Technical SEO checklist: The foundation everything stands on

Technical SEO isn't the sexiest topic, but it's the foundation everything else stands on. If Google can't crawl, understand and index your site, even the world's best content goes to waste.
1. Crawling and indexing
Check that the right pages are indexed — and the wrong ones aren't. Review robots.txt, sitemaps and canonical tags. Use Google Search Console as your direct line to what Google actually sees.
2. Speed and Core Web Vitals
Load speed is both a ranking and a conversion factor. Focus on LCP, CLS and INP. Even small improvements here show up in both rankings and the bottom line.
3. Structured data
Schema markup helps Google understand your content and can produce rich results in search. It's also the foundation for your site being understood in an AI-driven search world.
4. Internal structure
A logical site structure and well-planned internal links make crawling efficient and distribute authority. Read more in my article on internal links.
